Never saw the movie. Did see the show. If you ever get the chance, go. That song sung live is unparalleled. Highly recommended.

I just wish they could have put a half as solid effort against the Saints. But hey can't win them all

<em>"Let’s put it this way, he’s closer to being John Elway than he is to being Joe Montana."</em>

- well put, and that's still pretty high praise. Elway's still a Hall-of-Famer.

Our opinions of McNabb are next door neighbors of each other. I think McNabb is one notch down from great, that he is very good. Sometimes he rises to greatness. Sometimes he falls to good.

I think he's one of the five best quarterbacks in the league. Most quarterbacks fall into three categories: pure pocket passers (Dan Marino type), field generals (Joe Montana type), and pure athlete (Randall Cunningham type).

McNabb is a hybrid, which makes him dangerous. He throws a better ball than most of the pure athlete types (Culpepper, Vick, and McNair) or most field generals (Brady and Rothlesberger). He leads better on the field than most of the pure athlete types (as good as McNair, but better than the others) and than most of the pure pocket passers (Peyton Manning). And he is a better pure athlete than the pocket passers and field generals. If that all makes sense.

Was a great game wasn't it. Just thoroughly enjoyable from every angle. Only thing missing was I wanted one good hit on T.O. by the defense. I knew he would get up, but just one 'Welcome back to Philly" hit. Michael Lewis nearly had one, but Owens dropped the ball.

And the truth about McNabb, in my opinion, is this. He is not a player who thrives when the pressure is on. There are players that live for those pressure moments. He is not one of those people. That is FAR from saying he can't win the big game. He has won plenty of big games. And sometimes he puts his team on his shoulders and drives them to victory.

He is a very good quarterback. There are other quarterbacks that you might PREFER in the clutch, but few of those that you would prefer overall. Let's put it this way, he's closer to being John Elway than he is to being Joe Montana.

that was a phenomenal game. and not to validate T.O.'s complaints, but you're right - Bledsoe does suck.

I wonder how much longer I'm going to have to listen to people putting McNabb down while guys like Bledsoe are still collecting paychecks in the nfl.

btw, I love the Maya Angelou reference, especially that poem.
